Eucharistic Congress & National Eucharistic Revival updates

  • Download PDF Version available for use with email and print distribution.

To: Pastors, clergy, religious and parish staff
From: Andy Lichtenwalner, director, Office of Evangelization & Discipleship

The 25th Eucharistic Congress on June 17-18 will be launching the archdiocese into the three-year movement of the National Eucharistic Revival. Please continue to pray for the Congress and spread the word.

Here are a few updates as we prepare for the Congress and the launch of the Revival.

  • Eucharistic Revival Missionaries: If your parish has not yet submitted names and contact information for two, pastor-nominated Eucharistic Revival Missionaries to be commissioned at the Eucharistic Congress per Archbishop Hartmayer’s request, the deadline has been extended to Friday, June 10. You may use the link here to submit names or you may contact Monica Oppermann directly at moppermann@archatl.com. For more information on envisioned responsibilities of the missionaries, see the one-page list of tasks attached or refer to the communiqué memo of May 9.
  • Parish EC Coordinator: If your parish has not yet designated a parish coordinator for the Eucharistic Congress, please ask your volunteer to go to the link in English or Español and sign up.
  • Family Track: New this year at the Congress is a dynamic, interactive Family Track where parents/guardians attend with their children for a one-hour session. Please note that this track is taking the place of the former Children’s Track. We appreciate your help in communicating to your families about this track and that there will be no Children’s Track this year.
  • Resources for Corpus Christi Sunday (June 19): The USCCB has shared some resources for parishes in anticipation of Corpus Christi Sunday for those wishing to hold parish eucharistic processions.
  • Source and Summit has shared free Eucharistic Procession booklet templates and music resources for Corpus Christi Sunday (additional information attached); here is the link: https://www.sourceandsummit.com/eucharistic-revival.
  • The Knights of Columbus have shared the attached “Eucharistic Procession Trifold” (English and Spanish) and “Eucharistic Procession Poster,” (English and Spanish).

Thank you for your attention to these requests/updates and for your prayers.
