In order to celebrate the gift and the blessing of marriage, as well as to affirm the support for married couples, the church of the United States celebrates National Marriage Week from February 7-14, coinciding with the beginning of the season of Lent and Valentine’s Day.
In addition to the resources shared in last week’s Communique, the Office of Intercultural Ministries is sponsoring an effort to recognize and honor couples of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Couples are invited to submit their wedding photos with their names, wedding date and parish name during the week. A photo album will be available for download at https://archatl.com/es/. Couples should use the hashtag #matrimonioscatolicosdeatlanta21 on social media.
For more information, please contact me at wcardona@archatl.com or (404) 920-7584.
The national initiative, which began in February 2010, to encourage diverse groups to join efforts to raise the question of marriage on the national agenda, has become a collaborative campaign to strengthen marriages, reduce divorce rates and build a stronger marriage culture; a priority of the Catholic church of the United States.
