Expanded offerings of The Georgia Bulletin

  • Download PDF Version available for use with email and print distribution.

To: Pastors, deacons, parish administrators and communications staff
From: Maureen Smith, director, Office of Communications

Dear friends,

For more than six decades, The Georgia Bulletin has been a valuable source of Catholic news and commentary in north and central Georgia. During this time, layout and delivery methods have changed significantly but never the core mission—to deliver the stories that unite us. The Georgia Bulletin provides Catholic perspective on current events and the history of the Archdiocese of Atlanta.

We are excited to announce new offerings including the Spanish-language podcast, “Hablemos de Fe,” and an electronic newsletter in Spanish. A new English-language podcast will debut later this year.

The Georgia Bulletin will continue to offer its English e-newsletter, and 23 print issues a year with additional content in Spanish, while also expanding social media and online content overall.

As a reminder, The Georgia Bulletin will shift from a per-printed edition to a per-registered household assessment for all parishes, beginning this month. This new assessment model responds to the ministerial needs of proper funding, the expanded outreach to diverse groups and the increase in digital presence.

Under the new assessment, the annual subscription amount for The Georgia Bulletin drops from $14 to $8.50. Parishes will be billed for six months of content in 2025. Any overage will be rebated back to parishes. Under the guidance and approval of the Priests Council and Archbishop Gregory J. Hartmayer, OFM Conv., the assessment will become part of the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal in 2026.

We ask that you offer your parishioners the option to receive content from The Georgia Bulletin in the format they prefer. We have marketing materials available to make this process easy for everyone.

As part of the new assessment, The Georgia Bulletin will offer the equivalent of a half-page advertisement for free to every parish, mission and archdiocesan school every year. You can choose to place two quarter-page ads or one half-page ad. For advertising, please contact Tom Aisthorpe at taisthorpe@georgiabulletin.org or 404-920-7441.

We welcome submitted news or story ideas from your parish communities. Please send ideas to editor@georgiabulletin.org.
