The St. Pius X Catholic high school bands would like to invite your student to become a member of our middle school advanced band.
The advanced band is geared towards students who have at least a year’s worth of experience playing an instrument. This group plays on all of our St. Pius Band Program concerts on its own and in conjunction with our high school band students.
This is a great opportunity for middle school band students to garner additional practice time outside of their school band program, to meet other instrumental students from around the Atlanta area and to play together in a high-performing ensemble.
Rehearsals for the 2025-26 school year will begin on Wednesday, September 10. Please register below, and reach out to SPX Band Director, Ian LaBreck (ilabreck@spx.org), if you have any questions.
Advanced Band
- Rehearsals are every Wednesday from 4-5:30 p.m.
- Any band instrument that the student already plays
- Additional opportunities such as All State/District Band, UGA Midfest, solo and ensemble, large group performance evaluations, etc.
- Students may be eligible to participate in the Marching Golden Lions (SPX Marching Band)
- Registration Fee $200
- Includes: instruction, instructional space, music, band t-shirt
- Does not include: instrument/instrument rental, supplies such as drum sticks, reeds, valve oil, etc… Concert Dates

- Christmas Concert: Wednesday, December 10, 7 p.m.
