To: Pastors, priests, deacons, bulletin editors, campus ministry leaders and school principals
From: Patrick Metts, LPC, associate director, Office of Evangelization and Discipleship
The Office of Evangelization and Discipleship, in collaboration with the Life-Giving Wounds Atlanta Chapter is starting a support group in mid-June for adult children of divorced or separated parents.
Guided by the principles and insights of the Life-Giving Wounds ministry, this group will specifically address the unique experiences of this age group and offer ongoing support and healing for those impacted by parental separation, providing a valuable option for those unable to attend full retreats. The format allows for a more gradual integration of the material and healing process, providing ample time for reading, reflection and journaling between sessions.
Drawing upon the wisdom presented in the book Life-Giving Wounds, the group will focus on fostering a sense of community, providing mutual support and encouragement, exploring themes of healing and reconciliation, and cultivating spiritual growth.
For those unable to attend in person at the Chancery in Smyrna, hybrid meeting options will be available. Our goal is to offer accessible support to all who need it.
There will be no cost to attend. We only ask that participants purchase their own book and accompanying workbook (total – $45). Please register here and read the sample bulletin announcement below. Contact me if you have any questions at pmetts@archatl.com.
