From: The Most Reverend Gregory J. Hartmayer, OFM Conv.

Dear brothers,
Peace and all good things!

The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ will be celebrated this year on Sunday, June 22. As was communicated previously, due to multiple circumstances, our local Eucharistic Congress was cancelled this year. This left us with no archdiocesan-wide event planned for that weekend.

However, this in no way should discourage us, but help us always to strive for communion as the Body of Christ, even if we are not gathering in one physical place. Brothers, I personally encourage you to celebrate this solemnity in this Jubilee Year with even more joy and hearts filled with gratitude for the gift of God himself to us. I invite you to plan local events during and around the celebration of the Solemnity of Corpus Christi in 2025.

Consider organizing a local Eucharistic procession on parish property or beyond and celebrating a holy hour for the intention of a Eucharistic revival in our archdiocese. For parishes/deaneries interested and able to collaborate on a public procession together, whether during late June or another time during the year, please know of my support. The offices of Communications and Evangelization and Discipleship are available to help with any promotion.

The three-year call for a National Eucharistic Revival was the beginning of a new movement of revival across the church in the United States and beyond. Especially here in the Archdiocese of Atlanta, with our rich legacy of Eucharistic renewal and congresses, I would like us to renew an earnest prayer for revival and for the next steps the Lord wants us to take.

In this Year of Mission of the National Eucharistic Revival, the Walk with One resource remains a helpful way for individuals to engage the call to revival.

This Year of Jubilee is also an excellent opportunity to invite many more to experience anew the Lord’s mercy and call to holiness.

Thank you for all you do in service to the people in this local church.
