Chrism Mass, Lenten Day of Reflection and Jubilarian Dinner

To: Priests
From: Archbishop Gregory Hartmayer

Dear brothers,

Peace and all good!

We have just celebrated the first Sunday of Lent, this sacred season offered by the church to intendedly reflect on our personal relationship with the one who has called us to serve his people. The time to gather for our annual Chrism Mass, Lenten Day of Reflection and Jubilarian Dinner is approaching, and I hope to see you there.

This year, our event will take place on Tuesday, April 15, at the Cathedral of Christ the King, and will provide time for prayer, spiritual renewal and fraternal reflection as we prepare ourselves for Easter.

Our day will begin with fellowship and a continental breakfast, followed by a couple of Lenten reflections facilitated by Fr. Tim Hepburn. One of the highlights of this gathering will be the Chrism Mass, during which we will renew our priestly promises, bless the oil of the infirm and catechumens and consecrate the sacred chrism to be used in our sacramental ministry throughout the year.

In addition to this sacred celebration, we will host a reception and dinner to honor milestone anniversaries of the priests in our presbyterate who will be celebrating their 25th and 50th jubilee anniversaries. It will be a wonderful opportunity to come together as one to celebrate their dedicated service and the blessing they are for us and for this local church.

Your presence brings immense joy to me and a source of encouragement for your brother priests. Please make every effort possible to attend the full day. Our parishioners understand we need this time together. The full schedule for the day is listed below, as well as the registration link.

May this Lenten season bring you peace, renewal and abundant blessings. Our auxiliary bishops and I look forward to seeing you!
