To: Clergy, religious, youth ministers, schools and parishes
From: Father Rey Pineda, director, Office of Vocations
Vocations Awareness Week is November 3-9 and I hope your parish and community will join us in praying for men and women in our archdiocese who are discerning the Lord’s call for their life.
We have organized several in-person opportunities throughout the week and hope you will join us and invite those you serve to participate where appropriate. All the details can be found on our website at CALLEDBYCHRIST.COM/EVENTS and in the attached flyer (English and Spanish).
We hope to target varying communities to provide support to discerners in all age groups and from different backgrounds. Please encourage attendance from your youth and young adult groups, families and anyone you know would benefit from these experiences.
We will begin the week with a prayer for vocations, which I am asking is shared with your parish and prayed before or after each weekend Mass on November 2-3. We are attaching the prayers in English, Spanish and Vietnamese. These are also available on our event resource page for digital download. If your community worships in a language other than these three, we ask that you either translate the prayer or use one of your choice appropriate for the occasion.
The entire week culminates on Saturday, November 9, with our first ever Family Mass for Vocations at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Chanel in Roswell, followed by a panel discussion featuring parents of priests, seminarians and religious sisters. This event is open to everyone. We are relying on your invitation to make this a successful experience. Please invite families and discerners to attend and join us if your schedule permits.
Stay tuned to our Facebook and Instagram @AtlantaVocations for updates throughout the week and follow our IG Stories feature to see our “day in the life” virtual takeovers.
Thank you for all you do to encourage vocational discernment! If you have any questions, please call 404-920-7460.
God bless.
