To: Clergy and religious
From: Jayna Hoffacker, director of Restorative Justice Ministry; Office of Life, Dignity and Justice
In Spes non confundit, Pope Francis writes, “In every part of the world, believers, and their pastors in particular, should be one in demanding … the abolition of the death penalty, a provision at odds with Christian faith and one that eliminates all hope of forgiveness and rehabilitation.”
The Office of Life, Dignity and Justice and the Georgia Catholic Conference invite clergy and religious of the archdiocese to join us for an advocacy training, a presentation on how we are working as a local church to abolish the death penalty and how you as faith leaders can respond to Pope Francis’ call for the 2025 Jubilee Year.
The panel of expert speakers will include Frank Mulcahy, executive director of the Georgia Catholic Conference; Maggie Rousseau, director of Disabilities Ministry and Jayna Hoffacker, director of Restorative Justice Ministry.
Join us for this virtual gathering via Zoom on Thursday, November 21, at 10:30 a.m. Click here to register (or visit http://bit.ly/aoadpadvocacy).
