October 6 is Respect Life Sunday (always the first Sunday in October). I would strongly encourage each parish to focus that weekend’s homily on respecting life. The USCCB Prolife Secretariat provides annual homily helps for October Respect Life Month, which are available in English and Spanish.
Sometimes priests are reluctant to speak about this topic. I encourage you to speak from the pulpit, but always include a message of mercy. See homily considerations for healing after abortion.
Note: In the Archdiocese of Atlanta, we have PATH: Post Abortion Treatment and Healing. Also, you may want to take the opportunity to promote PAC: Pregnancy Aid Clinic, which serves women in need.
