The Georgia Bulletin, newspaper of the Archdiocese of Atlanta, is seeking a part-time editorial/publications coordinator. The coordinator will assist the editor in managing the editorial process and ensuring timely publication of high-quality content. Through long-term planning and coordination of projects, special editions and projects, this coordinator will play a vital role in improving the editorial process, including managing schedules and news calendars, tracking deadlines and communicating with content creators, editor, photographer and reporters. Assists with rewriting news submissions for final approval including press releases and articles. Serves as a community liaison to contributors, parishes, clergy and others involved in the published work. Coordinates relationship with vendors/readers/customers; negotiates, research and requests for proposals (RFPs) and makes recommendations on vendor relationships. Position is up to 28 hours per week. A bachelor’s degree in communications or journalism is required with two to three years of related experience. The candidate should have knowledge of the Catholic faith and north and central Georgia Catholic community. Must have ability to work across teams with a variety of projects, vendors and contributors; excellent written communication skills with strong oral communication abilities. Must be a self-starter with a positive attitude. The candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook. Saint Helena Catholic Church, in Clayton, is a diverse parish community of Spanish-and-English-speaking parishioners. Currently, we have an immediate opening for a part-time parish administrative assistant. Under the leadership of the business manager, this role provides general administrative support for the daily operations of the parish, including answering phone calls and emails, filing, sorting mail, greeting visitors to the office and helping maintain the parish calendars. The right candidate is someone who can communicate in English and Spanish, has a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook); and has excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills. Responsibilities include helping the pastor and staff with translations and working with the Hispanic community. Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, a vibrant parish in the Atlanta area with 3000+ families, is seeking a high school youth ministry coordinator. This full-time position collaborates with the middle school youth ministry coordinator, the religious education team and the pastor to develop and integrate faith formation and youth ministry initiatives serving our high school teens through our Life Teen program. The youth minister manages the Life Nights, Core Team development, youth retreats and high school service projects; and assists with the confirmation program. This position requires a flexible work schedule to accommodate evenings and weekends, including overnight retreats. The ideal candidate has excellent organization and communication skills, high energy, takes initiative and can relate well with teens.
