Peace and All Good Things!
Plans are underway for our upcoming Convocation of Priests, which will take place at Lanier Island Resort September 9-12. Father Pedro Poloche and the Committee for the Ongoing Formation of Priests have been working diligently to plan an informative and fraternal convocation.
Bothers, this is a unique time for all of us. We have the opportunity to share in prayer, laughter and support. This year, we welcome our five newly ordained priests into the presbyterate of Atlanta. We will be able to thank those who have labored their entire lives in this blessed archdiocese. During this time of convocation, we make possible the prayer of the Lord Jesus, that all may be one, and indeed we are one in His Priesthood. As your brother in the vineyard, I look forward to being with you.
We are fortunate to have Sister Miriam James Heidland, SOLT, and Father John Burns as our keynote speakers on the theme The Priesthood and the Heart of Christ. In addition, representatives from the Catholic Leadership Institute will deliver a presentation on the Called for More initiative. As in years past, the Serra Club of Atlanta will host the Day of Recreation on September 9, which features the opportunity to play either golf or pickleball, followed by a reception and dinner at 5:30 p.m. that evening.
