To: Pastors, parish communicators
From: Maureen Smith, director, Office of Communications
The Archdiocese of Atlanta is very excited this year to host the Catholic Media Conference June 18-21. The conference is organized annually by the Catholic Media Association. It usually draws 300-400 Catholic journalists and communications professionals from across North America for professional development and fellowship.
I want to personally invite you to consider sending someone from your communications staff to this conference. Registration is already open at the link above. You can select between a full three-day ticket or a less expensive one-day pass. If you register before April 7, you will get an early-bird discount.
This year, we are thrilled to offer talks from Bishop Robert Reed, the head of the USCCB Committee on Communications; Paolo Ruffini, the prefect for the Vatican dicastery for communications, and one of the young adult pilgrims who is participating in the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage traveling across the nation in advance of the National Eucharistic Congress. We will also be offering workshops on artificial intelligence, web development, search engine optimization, design, storytelling, podcasting and more.
If you decide to attend, please let me know so we can connect with you at the conference. Call or email with any questions you might have. My office number is 404-920-7344 and my email is msmith@archatl.com.
