From: Father Pedro Poloche, STL, JCL, director, Ongoing Formation of Priests
We are pleased to announce our first clergy study day of 2024 entitled, “Virtuous Friendship: Living it and Preaching it Today.” Dr. John Cuddeback, PhD., professor of philosophy at Christendom College, will be our presenter and offer two talks:
Lecture #1: Aristotle, Aquinas and Aelred on virtuous Friendship
Lecture #2: Making Friendship an Operative Principle Today
In these talks, Dr. Cuddeback will explore how Christ transforms human friendships and expands it. “With the help of writings of St. Thomas and St. Aelred, Dr. Cuddeback will discuss what lies at the heart of the Christian life – friendship with God in Jesus, the Divine friend who is at work in all authentic friendships.”
The event will take place on Friday, February 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Chancery.
Dr. John Cuddeback has taught at Christendom College for twenty-eight years. He lectures widely on topics including virtue, fatherhood, friendship and household, and his professional writings appear in various academic journals and books. His book True Friendship was republished by Ignatius Press. His blogging and free courses at LifeCraft are renowned for applying an ancient wisdom to life today.
All attendees will receive a copy of the Dr. Cuddeback’s book, “True Friendship: Where Virtue Becomes Happiness.”
Lunch will be served. Registration will open on Thursday, January 4.
