Cardinal Mario Grech, general secretary of the General Secretariat of the Synod, sent a letter, released last week, to bishops and eparchs asking them to invite the faithful from around the world to prayerfully participate in the XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops that will open in the Vatican on 4 October. The cardinal asked us to emphasize prayer for the Synodal Assembly especially on October 1, remembering it in the homily, the Universal Prayers and the final blessing of the Eucharistic celebration.
