With Alex Hagan’s retirement, Catholic Mutual is searching for a new claims/risk manager for the Archdiocese of Atlanta. Cheryl Harper will temporarily fill the role.
Cheryl serves as regional manager for Catholic Mutual Group (CMG), a self-insurance fund of the Roman Catholic Church, covering the United States and Canada. She is licensed in multiple states. She writes and implements Risk Management Programs, is responsible for directing the placement of all lines of coverage, obtains state approval on self-insurance programs, does captive reporting, directs the handling and supervision of claims and promotes the growth and development of personnel. She has over 30 years of progressively increasing responsibility with CMG. She directed the Hurricane Katrina recovery in Louisiana as well as multiple other catastrophic weather-related events. She has worked with multiple CMG members on special projects. She is a past president of the South Louisiana Chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society, past president of the Louisiana Association of Self-Insured Employers and an active member of the Claims Association. Cheryl was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. She has three young adult children, one who played on LSU’s football team, and she is an avid photographer and painter in her spare time.
