Upcoming events at Ignatius House Jesuit Retreat Center as of May 30, 2023

Men’s Weekend Retreat
Ignatius House 6700 Riverside Dr., Sandy Springs, GA

As summer approaches, our responsibilities and work as adults continue without pause. It may seem ironic that taking time out of our busy lives to engage in three days of silent prayer can make us more present and fruitful upon re-entering the world after the retreat. However, it truly does. So, what does St. Ignatius, a 16th-century soldier-turned-monk, have to offer men of the 21st century? The answer lies in the invitation to “come and see” (John 1:39). The retreat combines presentations by Fr. Fleming, guided prayer experiences and time for one-on-one individual conversations with a spiritual director. You will be introduced to or reminded of ways of praying such as The Examen, imaginative prayer using biblical stories, centering prayer and quiet meditation. The opportunity to receive the sacraments of reconciliation and Eucharist will also be available.

July 14, 6 p.m. – July 16, 12 p.m.
Couples’ Weekend Retreat: A Shared Pilgrimage
Ignatius House 6700 Riverside Dr., Sandy Springs, GA
Directed by Tim and Sue Muldoon, the authors of Six Sacred Ruled for Families, The Discerning Parent, and Reclaiming Family Time
To register:

If life is to be understood as a kind of journey, then the ancient image of pilgrimage helps us to conceive of the journey as a sacred one. As couples, we share that sacred journey with an intimate other: a person with whom we share our deepest selves, even as the other helps us to discover who God has created us to be. We invite you to a time and space of retreat from the busyness of everyday life, which often serves to distract us from some of the most pressing questions that face us. What kind of person shall I be? What kind of relationship do I desire? What do I find most life-giving in our relationship? What have I learned about myself in loving my partner? What have I found challenging in our life? How do I seek to grow? What kind of journey do we find ourselves on and where are we headed?

July 21, 6 p.m. – July 23, 12 p.m.
Weekend Retreat: Mary Magdalene – The Apostle to the Apostles
Ignatius House 6700 Riverside Dr., Sandy Springs, GA

This retreat includes multiple guided presentations, topics to contemplate and pray on, and plenty of unscripted time for rest. Come rediscover not just your best self but your truest self – as God created you to be.
