Eucharistic Revival: Parish Year and local eucharistic processions

  • Download PDF Version available for use with email and print distribution.

To: Pastors and all clergy
From: The Most Reverend Gregory J. Hartmayer, OFM Conv.

Peace and all good things!

A blessed Easter to each of you and your communities. Thank you for all the ways you love and serve your people.

We are approaching the Parish Year of Eucharistic Revival, beginning on the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), the weekend of June 10-11. As a way to enter into the Parish Year of Revival, I encourage you to hold local eucharistic processions during the Corpus Christi weekend or at another suitable time during this coming Parish Year. I know many of you already celebrate Corpus Christi in a special way. We have a beautiful history of eucharistic devotion in this archdiocese. Thank you for utilizing this opportunity to promote the call to a Eucharistic Revival.

Resources for eucharistic processions, bulletin inserts, general intercessions and small groups are available at https://archatl.com/revival/community-resources/.

Looking ahead, please encourage your leaders, catechists and communities to attend Rescue Atlanta on Sept. 9. Further resources are coming soon from the national team to assist parishes and schools with engaging this next year of the Revival. If your parish does not have a Eucharistic Revival Missionary or parish point person for the Eucharistic Revival, it is not too late. Please contact Monica Oppermann at moppermann@archatl.com so you can be sure your parish is receiving all the information and resources available for your discernment and possible use.

Thank you, and please be assured of my continued prayers.
