To: All clergy, school principals, campus ministers, directors of faith formation, youth ministers, parish communicators and social justice ministries
From: Jayna Hoffacker, director of Restorative Justice Ministry, Office of Life, Dignity and Justice

Please consider sharing this opportunity with young adult Catholics in your communities. The contest is open to Catholics aged 18-30.

Catholic Mobilizing Network, a national organization dedicated to promoting restorative justice and ending the death penalty, is hosting their annual Justice & Mercy Poetry Contest for Young Catholics.

All young Catholics aged 18-30 are invited to write and submit an original poem about the injustice of capital punishment in the United States. First prize is $1,000, and the poem will be published on CMN’s website and social media.

Click here for some suggested themes to be explored in a poem as well as resources on the death penalty and church teaching.

Poems may be submitted now through Monday, May 1. Visit https://catholicsmobilizing.org/poetry-contest for more information and to enter.

For questions or more information, contact me at jhoffacker@archatl.com or 404-920-7898.
