Yoga and Ignatian Spirituality Retreat: June 3-5
Cura personalis is a Latin phrase that means,  “care for the whole person.” This two-night retreat is designed to do just that, through prayer and meditation; movement and silence; rest and delicious, healthy food. These curated yoga sessions are designed for people of all skill levels by our registered yoga instructors, Mark Dannenfelser, MA, LPC, and Kimi Nettuno, MTS, RYT. A Five-Night Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Retreat: June 12-17
This mindfulness-based stress reduction retreat includes short talks by mindfulness expert Mark Dannenfelser, MA, LPC, as well as guided sessions of mindfulness meditation practice, including sitting meditation, walking meditation, movement exercises and opportunities to practice mindfulness in everyday activities. Participants will keep Noble or Grand Silence throughout the five days. There will also be opportunities for individual conferences with the retreat facilitator(s). NOTE: Prior experience with a personal meditation practice is highly recommended. Recovery Retreat—Steps 1-3: June 24-26
No one wants to experience failure but if you feel powerless and unmanageable, failure feels like a constant companion. This eye-opening retreat led by Tom Weston, SJ, brings prayerful focus to Steps 1-3 of the Alcoholics Anonymous method for sobriety. Be reminded of the abundant sources of grace that exist outside yourself to guide you to freedom. Retreat leader Carl McColman invites us to draw closer to God through silent, restful prayer and contemplation. We’ll look at two great teachers of Christian spirituality: St. Ignatius of Loyola and Thomas Merton, and we’ll explore how they offer two different, but complementary, approaches to contemplation. Kimi Nettuno, MTS, RYT,  leads this powerful day of reflection at Ignatius House that combines yoga movement with greater awareness of our thoughts, our words and our ability to discern the truth. The Beatitudes: August 5-7
Looking for peace during challenging times? Explore the Beatitudes—eight blessings recounted by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount (Matt 5:1-12). Fr. Matthew Linn, SJ, explains how these times of deep suffering become the times that most bless us with new life. This retreat will consider the healing offered in each Beatitude to create hopeful focus wherever we struggle. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction: August 26-28
The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction retreat teaches the practice of mindfulness meditation and how to apply it to stress reduction and self-reflection. You’ll also learn how to use your inner resources to support health, healing, spiritual enrichment and personal growth. Retreat director Mark Dannenfelser, MA, LPC, incorporates mindfulness meditation skills, mindful yoga practice, group dialogue, periods of extended silence, rest and relaxation. Artist and teacher Patti Hunter, MA, MACM, will lead us through a semi-silent retreat that combines creativity, nature, the Scriptures, different mediums of art and the practice of listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
