The Cathedral of Christ the King seeks a full time director of liturgy and choirmaster. This position reports to the Rector of the Cathedral. The director is responsible for all adult choirs, children’s choirs and cantors in collaboration with the director of music/cathedral organist. In consultation with the cathedral rector, the director of music/cathedral organist and other Music Ministry staff, the director is responsible for promoting the development of authentic liturgical music based on a strong knowledge of sacred music from Gregorian chant to contemporary compositions. This position is also responsible for general oversight of liturgical matters at the cathedral covering the parish and collaborations with the archdiocese. The role has responsibility for coordinating the liturgy team members with support from the liturgical assistant. As choirmaster, this role oversees five Masses on Sundays, two with choir and organ, and three with cantor and organ/piano.
