To: Priests, deacons, brothers and sisters of the Archdiocese of Atlanta and the Diocese of Savannah
From: Frank Mulcahy, Georgia Catholic Conference (404) 920-7367      fmulcahy@georgiacc.org

“Immigration reform and the church’s voice” is a new report out now from USCCB Migration and Refugee Services that highlights some of the challenges confronting efforts to bring about positive immigration reform and the church’s effort to bring meaningful reform. Read the report here.

Ukraine updates Justice for Immigrants maintains a frequently updated resource page with a wealth of information on refugees from Ukraine. The page includes statements from Catholic bishops and articles on what Catholic agencies are doing.

Afghanistan voices. There is nothing like listening to the voices of those who are enduring the sufferings associated with migration. Justice for Immigrants is working with Princeton University on a project that shows the role religion plays in the lives of resettled refugees during their integration process. Take a moment to listen to their stories today.

State and local immigration resources. Immigration regulation is primarily subject to federal laws and regulations. Nonetheless, state and local regulations can impact immigrants, refugees and those seeking asylum. Catholic Legal Immigration Network has created and recently published a resource page showing pertinent state and local actions. The Georgia Catholic Conference reviews these resources in advocating before the General Assembly and Georgia agencies.
