The Archdiocese of Atlanta is still planning to host the 15th annual Mass for couples celebrating their 50th and 60th marriage anniversary. Unfortunately, current circumstances require a modification to the usual practice.
This year, due to precautionary measures related to COVID-19, jubilarian couples are asked to avoid bringing guests to the Mass. Family members and friends will be able to join the celebration via a livestream video instead. The archdiocese will continue to monitor the situation. If it becomes possible to allow for other guests to attend in person, or if circumstances make an in-person celebration no longer possible, updates will be provided.
The 50th and 60th Marriage Anniversary Mass is tentatively set for Saturday, October 3, at noon, at Saint Brigid Catholic Church in Johns Creek. Archbishop Gregory J. Hartmayer, OFM Conv., will be the principal celebrant. A reception will follow the Mass in the parish hall.
Included at the end of this letter is a parish bulletin announcement for you to use. Additionally, you are invited to concelebrate this special Mass. Your presence would be especially meaningful to the couples from your parish marking this milestone in their lives.
Thank you in advance for your kind assistance with this effort. May God continue to bless you and the work you are doing every day for couples, families and all the people of God.
