Join Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church on Friday, April 17, from 7 – 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 18, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. for a workshop with long-time activist, author and teacher, Rev. John Dear.
In these difficult times, we now more than ever need to commit ourselves to nonviolence in all its aspects and do our part to build up the local, national and global grassroots movement of nonviolence for justice, disarmament and creation.
The speaker will introduce us to creative nonviolence on Friday evening and guide us on Saturday in three sessions based on his best-selling book, “The Nonviolent Life” and its three basic attributes: nonviolence toward ourselves; nonviolence toward all people, all creatures and creation; and joining the global movement of nonviolence.
Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church is located at 1350 Hearst Drive, Brookhaven, GA 30319. The event will take place in Moylan Hall.
Bring your own bag lunch. Coffee/tea and snacks provided. Registration fee: $50 by April 15; $60 at the door. To register, please visit www.olachurch.org/john-dear.
