From: Maureen Cully, Director of Marketing, Catholic Foundation of North Georgia
Ignatius House Jesuit Retreat Center, in partnership with the Catholic Foundation of North Georgia, is proud to announce an event open to the entire Archdiocese of Atlanta.
The “Life and Legacy Workshop” is an informative discussion where parishioners from across the archdiocese can learn about important estate planning and charitable giving techniques. Father Joe Lingan, SJ, will discuss Catholic teachings on advanced directives and cremation. Trusts and estate planning attorney Stephen Weyer of Cohen & Caproni LLC will discuss the importance of a will for both you and your family. Finally, Juliet Greco from the Catholic Foundation, will discuss how you can leave a Catholic legacy to the causes you care most about, while still providing income for yourself and your loved ones now and later.
The event takes place on Monday, March 30, at Ignatius House Jesuit Retreat Center in the dining room. The evening will start with refreshments from 6:30-7 p.m., followed by the speakers from 7-8:30 p.m.
To register, please visit http://bit.ly/my-life-legacy or www.cfnga.org/events. The event is free to attend, and you are welcome to bring a guest or your family members.
The panelists include:
- Father Joe Lingan, SJ: Fr. Joe is the associate director of Ignatius House Jesuit Retreat Center.
- Stephen Weyer, JD, trusts and estate planning attorney at Cohen & Caproni LLC and parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes.
- Juliet Greco, director of major and planned gifts at the Catholic Foundation. Juliet is a parishioner at Our Lady of the Assumption and a parent at Our Lady of the Assumption and Marist Schools.
The Catholic Foundation is encouraging anyone interested in learning more about the mission of Ignatius House Jesuit Retreat Center or those wanting to work with their family on end of life or charitable gift planning to attend.
Ignatius House is about to open a columbarium for the deceased and offers this workshop especially for those who are beginning to make end of life arrangements now.
One of the unique benefits of this workshop is that Ignatius House will share a prayerful, Jesuit exercise about how to begin recording your personal journey for your loved ones to know and remember about you.
