Join Justice & Peace Ministries for “A Catholic Look at War & Global Conflict” on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Family Life Center at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 1815 Blackwell Road, Marietta, GA 30066.
This all-day program, carried out in a respectful and thought provoking environment, will look at where the Catholic Church stands on just war and armed conflict.
Sessions will include a status report on the landscape of global conflict, an overview of Catholic theology on just war, prayerful consideration of the collateral damage of war, a discussion on alternative solutions and a look at how the Catholic Church is working to heal the wounds of war.
Speakers include Marie Dennis, Co-President of Pax Christi International; Phillip Thompson, Executive Director for the Aquinas Center of Theology at Emory University and a reflection by Auxiliary Bishop Bernard E. Shlesinger, III.
Registration is $10, which includes a catered lunch. Scholarships are available.
