Medical Rates Updated
The medical deductions (codes MDCL) have been updated with the 2023 rates for all employees enrolled in the plan. Below are the new rates. If you discover an employee who has a rate amount not listed below, please notify Rosa Montano-Parker before processing payroll so it may be corrected.
If you submitted payroll before the update took place, you may enter a one-time deduction amount for the difference between the amounts on the next payroll using the deduction code MDCL.
403(b) codes
Starting with the January 2023 checks, there are only two deduction codes used for 403(b) payroll deductions: 403 (pre tax) and 403R (Roth).
If an employee is 50 years or older, the system will recognize this and allow that person’s contributions to continue past the limit of $22,500, therefore the ‘catch up’ codes are no longer utilized. Please see the chart below for reference.
Note: Fay Duhe must review and approve those wanting to participate in the 15-year catch up plan each calendar year.
Please remember that all deduction codes should have the fifth week blocked unless it is a garnishment or other court order.
W-2 Availability
We anticipate W-2s to be available online for employees no later than January 20th. Paper copies of the forms will be mailed to each parish or school to the attention of the payroll manager for distribution towards the end of January. Employers have until January 31 to deliver Form W-2s to employees.
