Altar Servers to participate in the Eucharistic Congress

  • Download PDF Version available for use with email and print distribution.

To:              Pastors, administrators, business managers

From:         Deacon Dennis Dorner, Chancellor/Eucharistic Congress Steering Committee Chairman

I would like to invite the children who serve on the altar in your parish to take part in the 2022 Eucharistic Congress.  Parish altar servers are invited to vest in their parish vestments and take part in the closing Mass of the Eucharistic Congress at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 18.  The servers will form part of the procession and be seated in a special area.

If you are interested in having some of the servers from your parish participate, we will need the Altar Server Coordinator from your parish to be present with your servers in the Adoration Chapel (Hall around corner from Hall A in front of boardrooms) of the Georgia International Convention Center on Saturday, June 18 at 4:30 p.m..  The servers should be vested as they would be for a parish Mass: in alb and cincture or cassock and surplice, with dress shoes.

Following the Mass, the servers will return to the Italian Suites where they can be reunited with your Altar Server Coordinator.  Please be sure that your Altar Server Coordinator comes to the Italian Suites promptly after the conclusion of the Mass.

Due to the limited amount of available space at the Georgia International Convention Center, there will not be a place for the storage of altar server vestments during the day.

I hope that your parish will actively participate in this year’s Eucharistic Congress and provide altar servers for the closing Mass.
