“Title 42 Regulations” have been used since March 2020 to turn away refugees at the southern border. These regulations have been used to turn away virtually all refugees at the southern border without proper legal review based on unsubstantiated claims of poor health. Advocates and legal scholars have decried implementation of these regulations as a violation of human rights. This month, 164 religious organizations signed a strong letter to President Biden opposing these regulations and demanding their end. Organizations included the Catholic Legal Immigration Network and Catholic Charities Atlanta. Read more here.
