More and more, people – especially in their eldering years – are utilizing various ways of naming and concretizing the legacy of their lives. In a special virtual presentation on Thursday, June 24, at 10 a.m., author and educator in older adult spirituality, Sr. Janet Schaeffler, OP, will explore why leaving a legacy is important and offer some ways that have proven beneficial for many maturing adults.
Pope Francis has designated the fourth Sunday of July (July 25 this year), coinciding with the feast of Saints Joachim and Anne (July 26), as World Grandparents Day—a perfect time to engage with the older adults in our lives to ask to hear their stories. This session will also be helpful for younger generations, families, ministry leaders and caregivers seeking creative ways to assist in capturing and sharing these important stories.
