Fewer than one-third of Catholics believe the Eucharist is the actual body and blood of Jesus Christ, the Pew Research Center found in a recent poll. The majority of America’s self-identified Catholics—69 percent, according to
the poll—are either unaware or mistaken about what the Catholic Church teaches on the Eucharist and the Real Presence. The Archdiocese of Atlanta will begin promoting Eucharistic renewal this year, preparing for further initiatives expected from other dioceses in the U.S.
The June 10 issue of The Georgia Bulletin will focus on the church’s teachings with features on adoration, the Real Presence and the Feast of Corpus Christi. Atlanta Catholics will share the transformative power of the Eucharist in their
own lives. To support this journalistic and educational outreach through advertising, which makes publication possible, please contact Tom Aisthorpe at taisthorpe@georgiabulletin.org or (404) 920-7441.
