To: All priests
From: Monsignor James Schillinger, Director, Ongoing Formation of Priests
In the midst of all the cancellations due to the pandemic, I am very happy to report that the Archdiocese of Atlanta Priests’ Retreat will indeed take place Monday thru Friday, September 13-17. Once again, the venue for our retreat will be Brasstown Valley Resort in Young Harris, Georgia.
We are extremely fortunate to have as our retreat director Fr. Ron Rolheiser, O.M.I. Fr. Rolheiser is internationally renowned for his contribution to the field of Christian Spirituality. He has authored more than ten books, including his most widely read titles, The Holy Longing and Sacred Fire. He served as president of the Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio, Texas for fourteen years before retiring in 2020. He is a highly sought-after retreat and conference speaker and his weekly column appears in publications around the globe.
Details and registration materials will be sent in May. You will want to sign up early as this will certainly be a popular event and space is limited. Our Priests’ Retreat is offered every two years and is a significant event for our presbyterate. All priests are invited. Those priests currently in the Early Ministry Program (first five years of ministry) are required to attend the archdiocesan Priests’ Retreat.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
