To: Priests and deacons
From: Monsignor James Schillinger, Director, Ongoing Formation of Priests
We are pleased to partner with the Office of Formation and Discipleship to bring you a Clergy Study Day entitled “20/20 Vision on 2020” featuring well-known author of “Forming Intentional Disciples,” Sherry Weddell. The clergy study day will take place at the chancery on Thursday, November 19, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
As we begin to shift into a new reality post-COVID-19, it is a good time to look at where we have been, take stock and prepare to take our next steps. In the midst of lockdown and online Masses, the single end that the Church serves has not changed, “that each person may be able to find Christ, in order that Christ may walk with each person the path of life, with the power of the truth about man and the world that is contained in the mystery of the Incarnation and the Redemption and with the power of the love that is radiated by that truth” (Redemptor Hominis, no. 13).
We invite you to spend the day with Sherry Weddell as we examine where people are and what it will take in “Missiondom” to help them become disciples and apostles in their families, their workplace, their communities and the world.
This clergy study day is an in-person event and space is limited due to our intention to create a safe environment for all who attend. The room will be set classroom style so that each participant will have their own table and chair appropriately socially distanced. An individually packaged lunch and snacks will be served. Masks will be required.
Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis, and we anticipate that spaces will fill quickly. To RSVP, please contact Amanda Hailey at ahailey@archatl.com or (678) 595-9181.
We look forward to hosting Sherry Weddell here at the Archdiocese and hope that you will join us.
