Advent Ethical Trade sales

  • Download PDF Version available for use with email and print distribution.

To: All priests and religious, social action ministers, parish secretaries, parish communications/bulletin editors, catholic school faculty and staff
From: Kat Doyle, Director of Justice & Peace Ministries

Many parishes in our archdiocese hold Ethical Trade sales for Advent.  Although we cannot hold our sales in person this year, virtual sales are still possible!  Through the SERRV & Earn program, you can sign up for a unique partner code that will allow your community to shop for ethically sourced gifts and holiday items, while your parish or school earns 20 percent on every order.

Between the pandemic and natural disasters, the artisans who make these products are more in need of our support than ever before.

If you are interested in signing up for SERRV & Earn, please contact Jayna Hoffacker, Justice & Peace Ministries Program Coordinator, at jhoffacker@archatl.com. Due to delayed shipping times, we recommend starting your sale as soon as possible.

If you would like to share the opportunity for ethical shopping, but do not want to sign up for your own code, we encourage you to share our archdiocesan code: https://www.serrv.org/?a=archatl

Shopping Ethical Trade means you honor the dignity of work and support the ten principles of Fair Trade:

  • Opportunities for Disadvantaged Producers
  • Transparency and Accountability
  • Fair Trade Practices
  • Fair Payment
  • No Child Labor, No Forced Labor
  • No Discrimination, Gender Equity and Freedom of Association
  • Good Working Conditions
  • Capacity Building
  • Promotion of Fair Trade
  • Respect for the Environment
