From: Andrew W. Lichtenwalner, Director, Office of Formation and Discipleship; Lucía Baez Luzondo, Director, Office of Intercultural Ministries
Staff from the Office of Formation and Discipleship and the Office of Intercultural Ministries attended the most recent Amazing Parish Conference in Anaheim, California, at the end of October.
Some of you attended the conference here in Atlanta in 2017. In the last two years, Amazing Parish has improved and focused the conference experience in a way that can be strategically helpful for more pastors. The purpose is to advance a parish’s organizational health by building a cohesive parish leadership team.
Instead of a conference on various best practices, activities and specific programs, Amazing Parish is now concentrating more explicitly on the core principles that help bring about or strengthen “the building blocks of an amazing parish”—a culture of prayer, a culture of healthy teamwork and a culture of active discipleship—within a parish leadership team. A consistent emphasis on principles and parish culture now drives the conference. In addition, free coaching for parish leadership teams is available to help pastors and their teams stay accountable and take the next steps in the months following the conference.
The next Amazing Parish Conference is taking place in Kansas City, KS on October 19-21, 2020. Registration is now open and limited. Please see https://amazingparish.org/ for more information.
