To: Priests, deacons, religious brothers and sisters, principals and parish staff
From: Andy Lichtenwalner, Director, Office of Formation and Discipleship
This year the Atlanta Catechist Conference drew 1400 catechists from 70 parishes. The next date for this highly successful effort to help parishes train catechists has been set for August 22, 2020. The event will once again be located at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel and Convention Center.
National level and local speakers will present workshops that focus on catechetical methods and church teachings that will equip catechists for effectively Communicating the Catholic Message. Workshops will be available in both English and Spanish, and all workshops will help catechists earn credit for catechist certification.
Priests and deacons are especially encouraged to attend this event to support and encourage their parish catechists. Registration will open in early 2020. Early registration will be $25. Priests, deacons and seminarians may attend at no charge.
