St. Brendan’s Catholic Church is looking to present an exhibit of relics called Treasures of the Catholic Church, which includes some 150 relics, including those of St. Maria Goretti, St. Therese of Lisieux (the “Little Flower”), St. Francis of Assisi, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Faustina Kowalska.
The exhibition is completely free (no fees, transportation costs, etc.), but needs a minimum of eight parishes within a 250 mile radius to participate. Currently the exhibition is booked out 36 months in advance, so this is a long-term project.
Host church criteria:
-Having some parishes close by to one another is no problem. However, there does need to be a certain spacing overall or else expositions will have very poor attendance. Multiple expositions in close proximity to one another (e.g., within a 10-15 mile radius) tend to merely draw from the same people. Thus, it is best to try for a good sampling of parishes throughout to make up eight.
-Parishes that are larger have expositions that are usually better attended that those that are smaller; they usually also have better facilities. Keep in mind a parish needs to have a hall of sufficient size for an exposition.
