To: Pastors, Principals, School Development Directors, Parish Stewardship Directors, Ministry Heads
From: Maureen Cully, Director of Marketing, Catholic Foundation of North Georgia
This year’s Deo Gratias reception with Bishop Joel Konzen, S.M. will be Thursday, October 17 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Chancery of the Archdiocese of Atlanta. This year will be a different format, with Mass in either the chapel or hall (TBD), followed by the honoree recognition, and then drinks and heavy hors d’oeuvres in a setting that enables everyone to mix and mingle.
Most importantly, if you have a parishioner or donor who has pledged or made a legacy gift to your parish, school, ministry or organization, please let us know so that they can be invited to and honored at this special event.
More information about the Deo Gratias Society:
In thanksgiving for our generous donors, the Catholic Foundation has established legacy societies to recognize and honor Catholics in our community. These donors, who are models of faith and commitment, have given or pledged lasting gifts to the Catholic community.
The Deo Gratias Society is the legacy giving society for our Archdiocese. The Deo Gratias Society was established to recognize individuals who have pledged or made a planned gift in their will or estate plan to a parish, Catholic school, Catholic organization, the Archdiocese, the Catholic Foundation, or any of its funds. The Deo Gratias Society also includes donors who have given $5,000 or more during their lifetime to an existing fund or who create a new fund.
Deo Gratias Society benefits include:
• Recognition at annual reception
• Prayer intentions for loved ones lifted up at all daily masses during Lent in the St. Dominic Chapel at the Chancery
• Named recognition in the Catholic Foundation Annual Report, with permission
• After passing, continued prayers for the member at the annual Deo Gratias Mass
