The state of Georgia has scheduled the execution of Mr. Scotty Morrow for Thursday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. A clemency hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 1 at 9:00 p.m.
You can write to the State Board of Pardons and Paroles, Attn: Mr. Terry E. Barnard, Chair (2 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, SE. Suite 458, Balcony Level, East Tower, Atlanta, GA 30334-4909) to request the board to consider grant clemency to Mr. Morrow by May 1.
As Director of the Prison and Jail Ministry of the Archdiocese of Atlanta, I will be participating in the prayer vigil that will take place outside the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson the evening of the scheduled execution on May 2. This vigil is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Please join me in prayer in solidarity with Mr. Morrow.
