To: Pastors
From: Wilton D. Gregory, Archbishop of Atlanta
For the past 23 years, over 30,000 parishioners, clergy and visitors from throughout the Archdiocese of Atlanta and surrounding states, have gathered to celebrate the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. Perhaps many of them were your own parishioners! For your kind efforts of encouraging parishioner participation from your particular parish, I express my sincere gratitude.
The theme of the 2019 Eucharistic Congress comes from the Luke’s Gospel “This is My Body Given Up For You.” Many have worked long and hard to prepare for this event.
I am requesting your assistance with the promotion of this year’s Congress at your parish by appointing a Congress Coordinator. This person can be a member of the clergy, staff or a volunteer that will advertise the Congress to parishioners, recruit volunteers, facilitate the sale of parish Eucharistic Congress t-shirts as well as organize transportation to the Congress (carpools, buses, etc.).
Over the years, we have found that the Coordinators play a vital role in assisting you, our already busy pastors, with these important tasks. I kindly ask that you or your coordinator complete the online form by March 12.
If you have additional questions, please email communications@archatl.com or call 404-920-6800.
We look forward to seeing you and your parishioners at the Eucharistic Congress on June 21-22, 2019!
