Through CRS Rice Bowl, we share the journey with members of our human family around the world and commit our Lenten prayers, fasting and almsgiving to deepening our faith and serving those in need.
If you have not done so already, we encourage you to place your order for your FREE rice bowls (the bowls are available in both English and Spanish) at http://www.crsricebowl.org. The CRS Rice Bowl website includes weekly Stories of Hope you can use in your classrooms and parishes to create encounters throughout Lent. There are also special resources for parishes and educators for all grade levels.
Below are this year’s countries and themes for each week of Lent:
Week 1 – Guatemala & Dignity of Life
Week 2 – Uganda & Preferential Option for the Poor
Week 3 – Sri Lanka & Called to Family, Community and Participation
Week 4 – Sierra Leone & Rights and Responsibilities
Week 5 – Gaza & Dignity of Work and Rights of Workers
Please see the attached Coordinators’ Guide that includes weekly bulletin announcements, prayer intentions, pulpit announcements and more. All resources are available in both English and Spanish. If you have any questions about CRS Rice Bowl, please contact Jayna Hoffacker, Justice & Peace Ministries Program Assistant, at jhoffacker@archatl.com or 404-920-7898.
