The Office of Intercultural and Ethnic Diversity, in partnership with the Bowman Francis Ministry of Indianapolis, IN, invites you to participate in the 2018 Black Catholic Mission Week, taking place September 15-19, 2018.
Our theme for the Mission Week is “Alive Again: Rejoicing in Our Relationships” (Luke 15:32). This week of evangelization events will feature Rev. William Norvel, SSJ, Rev. Anthony Bozeman, SSJ, Rev. Chester Smith, SVD, Rev. Charles Smith, SVD and Rev. Kenneth Hamilton, SVD.
Events will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018 with “Teaching Mass for Youth, Parents and Youth Ministry Leaders” at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 551 Harwell Road, Atlanta, GA 30318. Later that day, the Young Adult Networking Gathering will take place at 6:00 p.m. at the Chancery, 2401 Lake Park Drive, Smyrna, GA 30080.
The events will continue with Mission Nights beginning at 7:00 p.m. each night at three of our archdiocesan parishes:
• Monday, September 17, 2018 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 928 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd, Atlanta, GA 30310
• Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 4300 King Springs Road, Smyrna, GA 30082
• Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 230 Arnold St., Hapeville, GA 30354
