The Atlanta Catechist Conference (ACC) will take place August 18, 2018, at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel & Convention Center (please find more information at https://atlcatechistconference.com/). This is the first year the archdiocese is hosting the event in such a large venue, so it is serving as a pilot event to help us gauge what might be helpful in future years.
Thus far, there has been a tremendous response, with over 600 parish catechetical leaders and others, from 45 parishes in the archdiocese, registered to attend. The conference is on track to have more than 1,000 ministry leaders in attendance.
Given the significant participation and possibilities of this event, I am pleased to extend an invitation to you to attend the ACC or to stop by for lunch and a session or two as your schedule allows. Your attendance would be gratis (n.b. – registration info and fees for other leaders are available at https://atlcatechistconference.com/registration/). You are also invited to concelebrate the closing Vigil Mass with Bishop Shlesinger.
If you are available to attend, or if a deacon is interested in attending on your behalf, please contact Mr. Benny Esposito (besposito@archatl.com). Please also indicate whether you wish to concelebrate the closing Vigil Mass. Your response is appreciated by Monday, August 13.
I encourage your parish catechetical leaders and others to attend. Please pray for the success of this event and for all who will be sharing their knowledge and expertise.
