From: Dr. Patricia DeJarnett, Liturgy Coordinator, Office for Divine Worship
The Office for Divine Worship, Office of Ongoing Formation of Priests and Office of Intercultural and Ethnic Diversity are hosting a bilingual Misal Romano Workshop (Spanish Missal) on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the Chancery. The workshops will be conducted by the Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions (FDLC).
A Spanish translation of the Misal Romano, Tercera Edición was confirmed for use in the United States by the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments on July 1, 2016. Since that time, the USCCB Secretariat of Divine Worship has been working with publishers to prepare the ritual text for publication. This edition of the Misal Romano may be used beginning at Pentecost 2018, and will be the required Spanish edition in this country as of the First Sunday of Advent, December 2, 2018.
The FDLC is conducting nationwide workshops that will not only examine the revised text, but will equip the clergy, lay leaders and pastoral musicians with resources to aid parish instruction.
The workshop for clergy and lay leaders will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on July 25, 2018 and the workshop for musicians follows from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on July 25, 2018. All are invited to attend either workshop, however, there will be more emphasis on music at the evening session. Both workshops will be held in Grand Halls A, B and C at the Chancery, 2401 Lake Park Drive SE, Smyrna, GA 30080.
Registration is required and available online through the FDLC website: www.fdlc.org/misalworkshops. You will be transferred to an Eventbrite webpage. For more information and to register, please visit www.fdlc.org.
