STARVE WARS, our annual meal packing event at the Eucharistic Congress, continues this year with Episode III. This great service opportunity for the youth of our archdiocese relies on fundraising and we need your help! We invite you to put together a youth team, set a fundraising goal and then come out on June 1 to help us pack 100,000 meals with over 600 other volunteers.
Those 100,000 meals will go to the impoverished developing nation of Burkina Faso in West Africa. STARVE WARS will take place Friday, June 1 at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park. There will be two sessions, 9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m., both in Hall A of the Convention Center. In order to be more inclusive, both sessions will have Spanish interpreters and the second session will be set up to accommodate those living with disabilities. Space is limited and registration is required to participate. To register online, click here.
A marketing toolkit is also available to help you share the information in your community. It includes graphics and text for use in your bulletin, website and social media. Click here to download the zip file.
STARVE WARS is a collaborative effort between the Archdiocese of Atlanta’s Justice and Peace Ministries, Catholic Relief Services, Helping Hands and the people of the Archdiocese of Atlanta.
