As we prepare for the upcoming holiday season, it is not too early to plan 2018 Earth Day celebrations for your parish community.
Observed annually on April 22nd, Earth Day is an opportunity for us to reflect on how we use our resources to care for God’s creation.
The theme for next year’s Earth Day is, “Beyond a Throwaway Culture: Reduce Waste – Grow Community.”
Catholic Climate Covenant will release resources in mid-February to help faith communities prepare for next year’s celebration. Resources include prayers, readings, a video and creation care activities.
There will also be a “reduce waste – grow community challenge” that will encourage faith communities to combat the culture of waste and grow in faithfulness, solidarity and joy.
