To: Pastors and Campus Ministers
From: Mr. Ashley Morris, Associate Director, Office of Intercultural and Ethnic Diversity
On the occasion of the Archdiocese of Atlanta’s 2018 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration honoring the life and legacy of Dr. King, we pause to honor a young adult member of our Atlanta Catholic community who has demonstrated great accomplishments in the area of evangelization.
This member of our faithful Catholic community will be awarded the 2018 Msgr. Edward B. Branch Young Adult Award, which will be presented at our Eucharistic Celebration on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at The Catholic Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
Please see the attached application packet or complete the online form to nominate a deserving young adult from your parish or campus ministry. Completed applications should be submitted to the Office of Intercultural and Ethnic Diversity no later than Tuesday, December 5, 2017. Submission details are listed in the attached application packet.
This is an ideal opportunity for your parish to nominate a young adult who excels and serves as a shining example of the energy and witness of our present and future Church within your parish or campus center. Remember, this award is not limited to parishioners of any particular ethnic group; everyone is eligible as long as they meet the criteria listed in the application packet.
Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. If you have any questions, please contact MLK Jr. Weekend Celebration Planning Committee member Samantha Smith at (404) 920-7346 or via email at ssmith@archatl.com.
