The Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne were founded in 1900 by Rose Hawthorne, daughter of the famed novelist Nathaniel Hawthorne. Our apostolate is to care for incurable cancer patients who cannot afford the care they need. Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home here in Atlanta was founded seventy six years ago.
We are hosting a Vocation Discernment Weekend from September 22-24, 2017 for women who are interested in learning more about religious life and our apostolate as Hawthorne Dominican Sisters. The weekend will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and consist of Masses, communal prayer, talks, visits with patients and opportunities to speak with the Sisters, questions and discussion.
The Home is located at 760 Pollard Boulevard, SW, Atlanta, GA 30315 (404-688-9515). Please RSVP to Sr. Alma Marie, O.P. at (845) 745-1319 or vocationdirector@hawthorne-dominicans.org.
Please share this information in your parish bulletin and newsletters. If you have any questions, please call Sr. Miriam, O.P. at (404) 688-9515 or sistermiriam49@gmail.com.
